How to Make a Newspaper Easter Garland

Hello everyone! Easter is coming up soon, and the weather is slowly getting warmer so I was feeling very seasonally inspired this week! Today I have a post showing you how to make a very cute DIY garland for Easter. This craft is very easy, and you likely already have all the needed supplies in your home. Kids or adults can do it, so lets get started!

What you will need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie
  • Newspaper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Hole puncher
  • Twine/string
  • Cotton balls

First step is to get a pencil and a piece of paper and trace your bunny image. You can also do eggs or really anything, but don’t make is too difficult to cut accurately because you will need to make many copies! IMG_1752

After you have drawn out your shape trace it with a sharpie so it is easier to follow! Then cut out the image so you can use it as a stencil. IMG_1753

Next place your stencil on the newspaper and trace around it with the sharpie. You can either cut each image individually, or leave the newspaper folded and cut many at once. Cutting many at once might end up less accurate, but it will save a lot of time! IMG_1756IMG_1762

Now that you have all of your bunnies cut out use a whole puncher to make holes in their ears. Try to keep the holes level with each other so all the bunnies will hang straight. If you don’t have a hole puncher at home you can just use the scissors instead. IMG_1768IMG_1772

Next thread your twine or string through all the bunny ears, try to make the distance between each bunny even. IMG_1774IMG_1777

Finally glue cotton balls on to each of your bunny to give them tails. IMG_1782

I hope you all enjoyed this craft and have a wonderful Easter if you celebrate it!

  1. I love this! Very easter inspired but still subtle, I’m going to have to get doing some DIY as I saw the cutest easter egg reef in the window of my local florist the other day and now seeing this post is really getting me into the spirit. Lovely post 🙂
